ho ho ho

We've had a great few days with lots of family and tons of gifts given and received. Here's a little recap...

On Christmas Eve day, nineteen of us sat down for turkey, ham, vegetables, and coconut cake!

Eric took down a turkey leg.

Uncle Jim, a retired Navy pilot, brought his helmet for Jed to see. It basically blew Jed's mind.

After lunch, the cousins opened gifts,

and then mobbed the wagon.

On Christmas morning, we discovered that Santa had visited, leaving a fire truck and construction cones for Macon . . .

and a Lego space station and an African safari play set for Jed.

A crane from Uncle Brian and Aunt Dara!

New jammies from Marmie!

Demon Deacon shirts from Grandma and Grandpa.

Percussion instruments from Grandma and Grandpa!

By late morning, our living room was trashed.

Merry Christmas!

this-n-that

Haven't seen a new post in a while? Haven't received any actual post (as in a Christmas card) from us? It's been a busy holiday season with the start of a new part time job for me, but we're finally getting around to feeling holly and jolly, and the cards will be in Monday's mail... just in time for New Year's!

In the meantime, enjoy some random pictures of Macon.

Macon's preschool Christmas party

and Macon drawing

This is, to my knowledge, Macon's first drawing of a person.
It's his friend, Trey, and Trey is in jail, as indicated by the scribbles around Trey's legs.
Merry Christmas, Trey. Hope you have a good lawyer.

party party party

On Thanksgiving, we partied with Grandma and Grandpa,

and on Saturday, we partied with the 2- and 3-year-old set (plus two 5/6-year-olds).

After cake, we moved to the sidewalk to burn off some sugar.

After his guests left, Macon used the leftover party hats for construction cones

until he realized there were presents for him in the living room.

Happy Birthday, Macon! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

reindeers with grandma

Today's rain, cold, and wind (and a few snowflakes) kept us inside all day. Luckily, Grandma was armed with instructions for reindeer cookies. Macon did way more eating than making, but Jed was thrilled to use a real (not just a table knife) knife, and he was very proud to serve his handiwork to us after dinner.
