spring has sprung

Last week, the boys had their opening days for tee-ball and coach-pitch baseball.

Macon playing first base: He caught the ball and got the runner out!

No. 4 awaits his first at-bat of the season.

Jed played an inning as catcher!

And our fan family: I believe we have 3 babies.

macon's favorite cheese

Macon: how do you spell mack-in?

Me: how do you spell napkin?

M: yes. mack-in.

Me: N-A-P-K-I-N.

M: And that spells mack-in?

Me: yes. Napkin.

M: No! MACK-IN.

Me: Napkin?

M, yelling now: No! MACK-IN!!

Me: Mackin? That's not a real word. But we can make it up . . .

M, cutting me off, yelling emphatically: Yes! Yes!! It IS a real word. Mack-in. Like mac-n-cheese.

the rest of the story: spring break

The boys spent a lot of time riding in the church parking lot.

And we all had a great time at Horne Creek Farm . . .

where our tour included a turn at a pump organ.

The boys did some chores, including feeding the sheep and donkey
and grinding corn for chicken feed . . .

and if you work hard, you play hard.

All aboard in Greensboro for the return trip!
