trucks, etc.
Starting with the etc. . . .
Teddie visited last week and started Jed's birthday celebrations early.
And last week was Macon's last day of preschool. Here, he and Dan await hot dogs.
As for the trucks . . .
The other day, Macon blocked Jed in the potty.
And today, this is what I found when I came downstairs from sorting laundry:
Macon said, "Welcome to my truck party!" and sat down to read to his vehicles. He also said, "Don't move them, and don't let Daddy clean up my trucks."

a visit from our western family!
On Friday, Amara and Uncle Brian arrived for a long weekend. Cousins enjoyed breakfast together, Brian and Jed played a little baseball, and Macon and Amara even went to preschool together this morning. We had a great visit, and we so appreciate them making the trip. We're already looking forward to another reunion in Minnesota this summer!
Winston may will himself to live until Amara's next visit.
He stayed with a sitter during her visit last year, but this year, she was captivated and tried to share as much of his day with him as possible.
Jed enjoyed being the big guy who could read to the troops.
And for two days, we rented a truck big enough to get all three of them in at once so we didn't have to take two cars everywhere.
One of those trips was a visit to Brian's college over in Durham. (And no, he didn't go to NC Central, but I'm afraid our blog would explode if I write out the name of said school.) Luckily, we escaped with only tattoos (as opposed to a t-shirt to be worn every-other-day for a year or more) and hopefully the tattoos won't permanently scar the boys.
When I said "look up," meaning look at me, Amara took me literally.
And on Sunday afternoon,
a maternal cousin of Amara's came over for a visit, so we had even more cousin fun!

More Happy Mother's Day!
Hopefully this Mother is very happy, because she got her two sons in matching outfits. And they must really love her to agree. Macon even agreed (after the picture, of course) to wear the flower. We love you Mommy!

spring
Everyone and everything loves a little sun.
Thanks for the new summer jams, Marmie! Happy sleeping!
And finally, a recent work by our resident artist.
