...and we're back

Our computer is back following a refreshing and rejuvenating week at the computer spa.

Last week, after watching an artist working on a painting on our street, the boys moved their easel outside. They drew and painted for at least an hour and I took a sneaky picture from the window.

For Father's Day, the boys and I made Eric's favorite dinner: breakfast!
And I think I did a pretty good job at making Grandma's gravy.

And speaking of pretty good jobs,
Macon wrote a pretty neat M and J on the easel's chalkboard side yesterday.

happy father's day!

Happy Father's Day to Eric and Grandpa! We are a lucky family! (And if our computer was lucky, I'd post some pictures, but it's in the shop this weekend.)

tids-n-bits

A few days after Jed's birthday, our neighbor, Sabra, continued celebrations with cupcakes for the boys. We lit a candle and sang, and then when Macon was ready for his cupcake, Jed suggested that we light the candle again and sing to Macon, too.

Earlier this week, all the kindergartners at Jed's school gathered at a park for a play party. I think I was the only parent from Jed's class that brought a blanket and we were soon filled to capacity.

Later in the day, the boys enjoyed their first taste of Bill Cosby on the Electric Company.

And from yesterday: the last day of kindergarten! Watch out first grade!

more from the weekend

How does one top a party with amphibians and reptiles? Go to a renaissance fair!

Because we don't already weaponize everything and fight enough, we watched two knights duke it out.

And after spending some time inside at several art project stations, we returned for chain mail!

celebrating six

Jed started his day with gifts from Grandma and Grandpa . . .

. . . and Marmie.

We then moved to the science museum, where cake awaited.

Along with turtles, snakes, frogs and salamanders.

Between animal visits, the kids did quick craft projects,
with the favorite being a frog that hopped thanks to alka seltzer tablets.

Happy Birthday, Jed! We love you!
